Aga Szot

Aga is a visual artist, painter, educator, owner of Aga Szot Art Studio – an art installation, which is at the same time an art studio where on a regular basis I allow people to watch me painting. Co-creator of The Icon Factory & The Icon Walk endorsed by UNESCO.
Aga Szot Art Studio is an idea to create an art installation, which is at the same time an art studio where I can work on a regular basis and allow people to watch me painting, a place where people can see an artist’s work environment, where they can see a work developing and coming into being in front of them. It is a special experience, watching artists at work, witnessing the process of creation. Just as with a traffic accident, people are drawn by curiosity to slow down, to watch, to somehow feel part of the process. People stop and stay and become part of what is going on together with the artist at work.

 
 
My Story

Kevin Bohan

Kevin is a full time artist, illustrator and mural painter based in Dublin. Kevin came back to art in his mid-thirties after a long break. Since 2011 he has had five solo exhibitions in Dublin. He has taken part in numerous group shows, live-painting events and festivals.
Kevin is a volunteer at The Icon Factory artist-based charity in Temple Bar. They help support local artists through commission free exhibition space and help promote Irish culture through art and education. He has worked facilitating creative workshops and mural painting events with schools, youth groups and drug rehabilitation centres.
Kevin is a big fan of tribal and psychedelic art, character-based pieces and works in digital illustration, pen and ink and acrylic paint. However large scale mural painting is his passion. He has painted many public and private commission murals in Dublin and around Ireland. He has taken part in many street-art festivals including The All City Jam, Evolve Urban Art Jam, Electric Picnic Artlot, the Longford Cruthú Art Festival, Waterford Walls International Street Art Festival and Memphis Paint.

My Story

Pawel Jasinski

Pawel is an artist and a designer, born in Poland and currently works in Dublin. He graduated from National Secondary Art School in Nowy Wisnicz and has a Masters of Museum Exhibition and Art Sacral -P.A.T in Krakow. He exhibited his paintings in several European countries including Latvia, Ireland, Poland and England.
Pawel presented his work at the Hunt Museum during the Polish Art Festival September 2016.
His portrait of Paul Brady has been printed on the side of a building in Temple Bar, The Icon Factory, which is located in the historical centre of Dublin.
Pawel strives to portray a diverse world, bringing in themes of tolerance, loneliness, love and longing, often in a humorous and subtle way. One of his favourite motifs is that of a woman, often of an unrealistically large size. Painted in many different ways, she is a symbol of fertility and maternity.

My Story

Mel White

Mel (1978) was raised in a bohemian environment, her parents encouraged her to adopt a broad and somewhat anti-establishment outlook on life. She relished the opportunities such parenting afforded her, exposure to diverse people, alternative ideas and the constant dialogue around artistic, political and social issues. All of these experiences have served her intellectual inquiry, and artistic development. From an early age she had a keen interest in pop art and animation, using these styles to articulate the world around her. A natural explorer and very curious by nature, Mel gets her artistic inspiration from her extensive travels. Traversing the World, she meets and connects with people from different ethnicities, in various environments both urban and rural, researching their culture and heritage. Searching for the differences between the people she meets, she was struck by the striking similarities, connecting points and the shared kindred spirits she encountered. These unexpected bindings and unlikely affinities, that she found tying together various ethnicities and cultures, stimulates her artistic practice and continues to keep her socially engaged. Mel’s paintings celebrate these memorable encounters in joyous colour, reflecting the pleasure of connections she finds, and painting with an energy that echoes the vibrancy of these connections.
Artist Statement:
“In the early development of my work I began with photography, I was drawn to capture images of the everyday, documenting conventional lives moving through their various spaces, always seeking to formulate a quirky snapshot of life. Over time, this pursuit was not fulfilling my creative hunger, I moved forward to other creative outlets, these included working with acrylics, oils, pastels, watercolours, applying these to canvas, wood, paper, and other materials. In the 1960’s and early 70’s, street art, graffiti, and the combination of psychedelic images and design in both fashion and art were prolific, these were a strong grounding on which I based my early development. The vivid colours of those eras, the strong lines and deep contrasts that first opened my artistic eyes, all find echoes in my work today. In later life I began to expand my focus to include other areas of art and design, I was inspired by the posters and prints of artists such as Andy Warhol, the abstract designs of Picasso, and the imagination used in the creation of works by Salvador Dali & Frida Kahlo. All of these artists have left a strong influence on me. At present, I am committed to expanding my scope and very open to exploring new avenues to articulate through my painting and find new expression to represent the often contradictory ways in which our world is formed.”

 
 
My Story

Iwona Kreciwilk

Iwona is a Polish artist living in Dublin for the last ten years. Iwona studied ceramics at the Art Czestochowa High School. In 2001 Iwona graduated with a Master’s Degree from the Pedagogical University of Czestochowa, Poland specialising in painting. In Poland she was a member of artistic group “Naciapane” Splash, acive between 2005 -2010. Iwona is regular resident at Aga Szot Studio beside the Icon Factory in Temple Bar. In 2017 she open three solo exhibitions in Dublin “Horizontotally”, “Configurations”, “Wet paint” and she has taken part in many group shows. In 2018 she took part in Polska Eire Festival as one of the artist exhibiting in Art Cafe in Dublin.
Artist Statement:
“I am a Polish artist based in Ireland with a degree from Faculty of Art, The Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. My work explores the relationship between the colour, abstract art, action painting and expressionism. I have always been fascinated by children’s art, calligraphy, Aboriginal art and African art from which also these artistic directions draw. I would point out three artists from my home country who have had an influence on my art: Jacek Malczewski, Piotr Potworowski and Jerzy Nowosielski. In my artistic practice I use bold colours, scratched, rusty surfaces and outlines of the silhouettes of people, boats, trees and birds. Often I also paint non-figurative artworks which can be described as colourful mindscapes. I am working in acrylic paints and also clay as a ceramist.”

Iulian Bocancea

a.k.a “A way two feelings”

Iulian was born and raised in Piatra Neamt, a small city in the heart of the Carpathian Mountains from Romanian. He is currently living and working as an artist for the past 7 years in Dublin City. As main influence, nature, is inspiring him in drawings and paintings. As a technique of choice, he using the palate knifes on Fabrriano paper to immortalize different aspect of the beauty that nature offers for free to anyone at any stage of our life.
Artist Statement:
“We live in a world that seems to have too many things and we forgot the basic connection that we have with the nature around us. I started my project thinking about what are the values that we as a society had created, or should I say the fake values. I did not know where to look or what to acknowledge as being “pure” anymore, because I am getting lost in the obsession to gain more physical and technological things/objects in this meaningless reason of materialism. I start to critically look for answers that came up after I study the traditional and contemporary paintings of artists like: Anselm Kiefer, Gerhard Richter, Gustave Courbet, Nicolae Grigorescu and many more. I appropriated their art using Photoshop to make digital collages, transferred them on canvas material. Doing so I realized that I have to come back to basics, in the way that this process was too complicated and time-consuming. I was not satisfied with the results and I was feeling that I want to “break out” of these processes that was holding me back from painting without any kind of limitations. I figured out that I need to simplify everything. To go back to basics, using just Fabiano paper, brushes and painting knives. Rapidly I felt like I found my way back to nature, having no restriction, creating that “pure beauty” using nature as it is, the most powerful teacher. My goal was to “rediscover” my real values, during this journey that got me back to my natural way of being. The outcome of my project is to present and offer to the viewer my homage towards the nature around us, that we keep forgetting that “she” is the only reason for our existence on this planet.”

My Story

Katarzyna Sliwa

Katarzyna was born in Poland in Oswiecim. She moved to Ireland in 2009 and it was here that she started to draw and paint again after not doing so for many years. In 2013 she picked up her pencil again then was pen and ink and now she is trying focus on developing her oil painting skills. Katarzyna is a self-taught artist and her work is primarily the result of her need to create and express herself, it is both a challenge and an outlet. She is still experimenting and searching for her own artistic voice, particularly the voice that can describe her inner need to capture something other than just paint. Katarzyna’s favourite painters are- Rembrandt, Titian, Odd Nerdrum, Vincent Desiderio.

Yola Wesolowska

Yola is a composer, director, singer, pianist, performer, author of the workshops. She holds M.A. in Music and Composition. She worked with the artistic milieu of Lodz, Poland and many cultural institutions of the city as a musical instructor, composer and arranger, leading vocal and instrumental groups. She successfully participated in competitions and festivals all over Poland receiving many prestigious awards. Yola collaborated with Theatre Kalambur in Wrocław, Theatre Rampa in Warsaw, Berlin Club So36, Theatre Studyjny in Łódź (she received a First Price for the music composition for “Nie-boska Komedia” directed by Zdzisław Jaskuła), Theatre Nowy of K. Dejmek.

Plays directed by Yola and music she created were presented in high profile theatres in Poland. She worked with many famous artists and actors in Poland, Berlin, France and Italy, including: Roman Kłosowki, Arkadiusz Jakubik (favorite actor of director Wojciech Smarzowski), Stan Michalak, Sharifa Malik, Guy St.Louis, Agnieszka Matysiak, Adam Cywka, Marta Klubowicz, Robert Gonera, director Zdzisław Jaskuła, Itziar Alvarez Arana(Spain), Siggy Davis (USA), Darina Gapitch (Opera Nova soloist ), Patrick Farrant(Germany), Nirankar Khalsa (USA), Tomasz Dajewski, Monika Rostecka, Krystyna Krotowska, Ewa Staroń, Anna Gunia, Joaquin la Habana (Cuba), Anna Zubrzycki, Anu Almagro, Marcin Rudy, Niamh Dowling.

Yola composed music to the film about Tadeusz Różewicz and Eugeniusz Geta Stankiewicz “Zabawy przyjemne i pożyteczne” directed by Lambrosa Ziotasa and produced by City of Wrocław and magazine Odra 2006.

Yola has been awarded numerous times for her work and in 2015 she has received a very prestigious award from Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland for her lifetime achievements.

 
 
Musician, composer, contrabass artist

Stan Michalak

Stan is deeply rooted in the tradition of European classical music, jazz and broadly understood creative musical improvisation. In the 1980s, he became a laureate of the Jazz Juniors festival and competition in Krakow. In 1987 was invited to the drummer team of Kazimierz Jonkisz. He worked with The Grand Theater in Łódź. In 1989 in Austria he met Hans Joachim Roedelius (ex-Cluster/Cluster & Eno) a pioneer and cult figure of the contemporary electronic music scene. They composed material sound, which appeared on Roedelius’s original albums “Apropos Cluster” (1990) with the participation of the second member of the Cluster-Moebius group. “Fruhling” (1992), “Sinfonia Contemporara No.1” (1994), and “Theater Works” (1994) with participation of Brian Eno and Michael Rother were named album of the month by the prestigious Wire magazine.
Stan worked in Berlin with the following international artists including: Bob Lenox, Kosta Lucacs, Tony Hurdle, Oliver Johnson, Hardi Zettler, Zam Johnson, Dicarlo Omm, Jocelyn B. Smith, Ernst Bier, Mack Goldsbury, Reggie Moore, Charles Owens, Frank Lacy, Veronika Vogel, Tal Balshaj, Yorgos Psirakis, Ashraf Sharif Khan, Ekkehard Woelk, Soon Kim, Akira Ando, Andreas Weiser, Donna Braun, Mike Russell, Billy Bang.
In 1993 he was invited to the European Concert Tour with a great, legendary singer Eartha Kitt. With Eartha, Daryl Waters (piano), Loomis Green – guitar (Jan Delay Group) and Howard Gordon (drums) they record for Deutschland Radio…

Adriana Laube


I am self-taught artist. Not counting a few private lessons, I learned painting by myself, or rather, it taught me because painting is a state of mind. You are born an artist and then you just let yourself be led, and then life becomes an art.

I’m painting emotional states, but also thoughts. It is “something” that eludes words and can be only captured on canvas or paper. I paint Magic because it surrounds us. It wanders around in the streets and in the apartments. People radiate its colours.

I paint on canvas, paper, and wood. My works have been exhibited in galleries in Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic. This year I’m honored to have the exhibition as part of the festival in The Hunt Museum and Belltale foyer. The theme of this exhibition is:
Transformation – the golden path.
Transformation as a deep process of consciousness.

In April, being in the hospital, I experienced a state of the borderline between life and death, which caused some kind of enlightenment. As painting is my medium of communication, since then I have been trying to paint what I experienced and describe the information I received with a brush. After all “a picture is worth 1000 words”.

Jestem samoukiem. Nie licząc paru lekcji prywatnych, malarstwa uczyłam się sama. A raczej ono mnie uczyło. Bo malarstwo to stan ducha. Artystą sie rodzisz, a potem już tylko dajesz się prowadzić. A wtedy życie staje się sztuką.

Co maluję? Stany emocjonalne. Ale też przemyślenia. To “coś” co wymyka się słowom a uchwycić można na płótnie lub papierze. Maluje Magię, bo ona jest wokół. Snuje się ulicami i w mieszkaniach. Ludzie emanują jej kolorami.

Technika: Maluję na płótnie, papierze, drewnie.
Moje prace wystawiano w galeriach w Polsce, Niemczech, Czechach.

W tym roku mam zaszczyt wystawiać w ramach festiwalu w The Hunt Museum i w foyer Belltale. Tematem tej wystawy jest:
Transformacja – złota ścieżka.
Transformacja jako głęboki proces świadomości.

W kwietniu będac w szpitalu, doświadczyłam stanu z pogranicza życia i śmierci co spowodowało pewien rodzaj olśnienia. A ponieważ moim środkiem przekazu jest malarstwo, staram się od tego czasu namalować to co przeżyłam , opisać pędzlem informacje, które otrzymałam.
Przeciez “obraz wart 1000 słów”.

I choć każdy odbiorca przefiltruje przez siebie moje obrazy, mam wielką nadzieję, że główna myśl – złota ścieżka – pozostanie czytelna dla każdego.
Złota ścieżka to droga balansu wewnętrznego, równowagi, zaprzyjaźnienia się ze swoimi najgorszymi cieniami, czerpania Mocy z codzienność i w koncu wibracja głębokiej empatii.
To wewnętrzne, stabilne zaufanie do Absolutu, które manifestuje się na zewnątrz.

Leslie Ryan Hurley

Happily living in the Broadford countryside with my young family. I paint large colourful, fun, and vibrant paintings. My work is expressive, semi-abstract, and full of movement and bright, bold colours.

Having studied business in college, and worked in marketing, I returned to study art as a new mum and rekindled my love of painting. I developed an interest in abstract modern geometric art, and this led to me becoming slightly obsessed with spots! Spots and dots feature in all my recent work. I love to create lots of soft layers of ink and high-flow acrylic paint on canvas, building a rainbow of colours in each background. This sets the stage for long dancing grasses and vivid abstracted florals. Inspired by wildflowers, movement, children’s giggles, and positive vibes, I hope my paintings make you smile! I imagine I am lying in the long grass and looking out at the world from a new perspective, in this style of painting, and I hope you do too!

I teach my own Happy Art children’s art classes and workshops locally; and host seasonal children’s art camps. I am a member of the Art Limerick group of artists and enjoy our exhibitions and art markets. I am also a member of the By Design art and craft co-op shop in Castletroy town centre, where I display my art in the gallery for sale, and I am happy to take commissions if you would like your very own piece of Happy Art!

Szczęśliwie mieszkam na wsi Broadford z moją młodą rodziną. Maluję duże kolorowe, zabawne i żywe obrazy. Moje prace są wyraziste, na wpół abstrakcyjne, pełne ruchu i jasnych, odważnych kolorów.

Studiowałam biznes i pracowałam w marketingu, a jako młoda mama wróciłam do studiów artystycznych i na nowo rozpaliła się moja miłość do malarstwa. Zainteresowałem się abstrakcyjną, nowoczesną sztuką geometryczną, co doprowadziło do lekkiej obsesji na punkcie plam! Kropki i kropki występują we wszystkich moich ostatnich pracach. Uwielbiam tworzyć na płótnie wiele miękkich warstw atramentu i farby akrylowej o dużej płynności, budując tęczę kolorów na każdym tle. To tworzy przestrzeń dla długich tańczących traw i żywych, abstrakcyjnych kwiatów. Zainspirowana polnymi kwiatami, ruchem, dziecięcym chichotem i pozytywnymi wibracjami, mam nadzieję, że moje obrazy wywołają uśmiech! Wyobrażam sobie, że leżę w wysokiej trawie i patrzę na świat z nowej perspektywy, w tym stylu malowania i mam nadzieję, że Ty też!

Prowadzę lokalne zajęcia i warsztaty plastyczne dla dzieci Happy Art; i organizuję sezonowe obozy artystyczne dla dzieci. Jestem członkiem grupy artystów Art Limerick i cieszę się naszymi wystawami i targami sztuki. Jestem również członkiem artystycznego i rzemieślniczego sklepu By Design w centrum miasta Castletroy, gdzie wystawiam swoje prace w galerii na sprzedaż i chętnie przyjmę zamówienie, jeśli chcesz mieć swój własny kawałek Happy Art!

Georgina Miller

Georgina is a graduate of the Gaeity School of Acting. Her theatre credits include Bread Not Profits (Guna Nua Theatre Company), The Lighthouse Keeper (Amalgamotion), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Mouth on Fire for Dublin Castle), The Country Girls by Edna O’Brien (Red Kettle Theatre Company), which played at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin, and subsequently on a national tour; The Big House for the Abbey Theatre; and she created the role of Lyndsey in Plan B/Guna Nua’s production of Unravelling the Ribbon. Other theatre credits include: The Well of the Saints (Big Telly Theatre Company); The Snow Queen (Graffiti Theatre Company), as part of the European Capital of Culture celebrations in Cork; Wild Harvest (Decadent Theatre Company); Action (Locus Theatre Company); and for Island Theatre Company she played Mags in Lovers and created the role of Jenny Hegarty in Where He Lies. Georgina won critical acclaim for her role as Maureen in One Last White Horse and the award for Best Actress from the Guinness ISDA Festival for her performance in At the Black Pig’s Dyke, both for MIDAS. Georgina is also a busy voice-over artist; in addition to a number of roles in radio plays and commercials she has narrated The Family Project TV Series for RTÉ.

Justyna Cwojdzińska

Justyna Cwojdzińska is a socially engaged artist, voice-over artist, and theatre practitioner. She graduated from the College of Theatrical Animation in Wrocław, Poland, and holds M.A in English Language and Literature from the University of Wroclaw. Justyna has been involved in theatre productions since 2000 in Poland and when moved to Ireland she continued her work in the cultural sector. She is a founder and artistic director of the Polish Arts Festival (2007) which celebrates 14 years in 2021. Justyna received an Outstanding Pole Award in the Culture Category for the work on the Polish Arts Festival from the Polish Government (Polish Promotional Emblem Foundation TERAZ POLSKA) under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland. She has produced two plays Nameless, directed by Yola Wesolowska and Julia. Recently you can follow her in various voice-over audio stories of Super Paua and Polish Arts Festival original productions. See her recent work in progress on FE-MA VOICES directed by Alex Rosiak presented as part of PAF 2021.

Ukończyła Szkołę Animacji Teatralnej we Wrocławiu i posiada tytuł magistra filologii angielskiej na Uniwersytecie Wrocławskim. Justyna od 2000 roku zajmuje się produkcjami teatralnymi w Polsce, a po przeprowadzce do Irlandii kontynuowała pracę w sektorze kultury. Jest założycielką i dyrektorką artystyczną Festiwalu Sztuki Polskiej (2007), który obchodzi 14-lecie 2021 roku. Justyna otrzymała od Rządu RP Nagrodę Wybitnego Polaka w kategorii Kultura za pracę nad Festiwalem Sztuki Polskiej (Fundacja Polskiego Godła Promocyjnego TERAZ POLSKA) pod honorowym patronatem Prezydenta RP. Wyprodukowała dwie sztuki Nameless w reżyserii Yoli Wesołowskiej i Julię. Od niedawna można ją usłyszeć w różnych słuchowiskach oryginalnych produkcji Super Paua i Festiwalu Sztuki Polskiej. Kamila Dydyna

Kamila Dydyna is a Polish filmmaker and actress based in Dublin. She started making films in 2015, leaving behind a corporate career to pursue a more creative way of life. Her debut short Testimony earned multiple award nominations including IMDb New Filmmaker Award at the Bath Film Festival and a Best Director nomination at the BAFTA-qualifying Underwire Film Festival in London. Her short The Betrayal, featuring music by Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, premiered at the GAZE International LGBT Film Festival Dublin. Both films were broadcast on RTE. Kamila’s new short drama, Debutante, set in the community of Irish Jehovah’s Witnesses, premiered at the Galway Film Festival in July 2021. To finance the film, she raised €20,000 through a global crowdfunding campaign, securing national media coverage for the project (The Irish Times, The Ryan Tubridy Show @ RTE Radio 1, and Louise McSharry @ RTE Radio 2).

In 2021, Kamila directed a series of 7 original, bilingual audio stories aimed at the Polish community in Ireland, a project led by the Super Paua Theatre Company.

Her performances as an actress include Dear Ireland Continues (The Abbey Theatre), My Name is Language (Dublin Theatre Festival), and Normal (Smock Alley.) Her voice-over work includes characters in a children’s TV series Royals Next Door (Pikkukala, Lunanime, Ink & Light), The Visiting Hour (The Gate Theatre), and The Haunted Road (BBC Radio 4).

I’m a vocalist and vocal coach, founder of Heart Singing, author of the interactive women’s course “Feel, Hear and Love Your Voice”.
My passion is singing, which comes from the heart and is embodied. I also help others find themselves through their voice and I teach vocal technique. I’ve always been singing, I’ve started my music adventure at the age of 16. Since I started singing on stage, I performed in a wide variety of configurations, bands, and projects.

For the past two years, my partner and I have been making music that combines pop and folk with a message of openness of heart, love for nature, and self-development.

My songs always reflect my personal process in discovering myself. I write about things that are important to me, about the depth and beauty I find in life, about things that touch and move me.

Jestem wokalistką i trenerką wokalną, założycielką Heart Singing, autorką interaktywnego kursu dla kobiet „Feel, Hear and Love Your Voice”.

Moją pasją jest śpiew, który pochodzi z serca i jest ucieleśniony. Pomagam też innym odnaleźć się poprzez głos i uczę techniki wokalnej. Emiji is a Dublin based artist, composer, and photographer.

He provides us with beautiful, soothing sounds of pianos, textural ambiences, cinematic drums, engaging, epic atmospheres, and relaxing voices. His music meets our deepest roots in a peaceful place where we can dive deep into ourselves and go for a beautiful, healing, introspective Journey deep into self and into nature.

He also loves to shoot in nature, especially trees.

Emiji encapsules deep emotions, mixed with sometimes dark and sometimes epic atmospheres. His music is an eclectic genre-bending mix of Neoclassical, IDM, Cinematic, and Ambient, much like the journey of a roller coaster.

Ewa holds MA in Art and Design and is an independent performing artist, dancer, dance teacher, dance movement therapist, Trauma and Tension Release exercises provider, owner of Alchemy of Movement Limerick.

Ewa in her practice connects therapeutic bodywork with artistic dance and movement, working with people through therapeutic forms of dance and trauma release exercises deepens her connection and understanding of the body.

Each of her performances is largely improvised, spontaneous, but yet authentic. By focusing on the sensations from the body, searching for emotions that are hidden, exploring the mind-body connection, she allows spontaneous movement to arise, by doing so she empowers the body to tell its unique story.

Ewa posiada tytuł magistra sztuki i projektowania, jest niezależną artystką performatywną, tancerką, nauczycielką tańca, terapeutką ruchu tanecznego, trenerką ćwiczeń Trauma and Tension Release, właścicielką Alchemy of Movement Limerick.

Ewa w swojej praktyce łączy terapeutyczną pracę z ciałem z artystycznym tańcem i ruchem, praca z ludźmi poprzez terapeutyczne formy tańca i ćwiczenia uwalniania traumy pogłębia jej połączenie i rozumienie ciała.

Każdy z jej występów jest w dużej mierze improwizowany, spontaniczny, ale jednocześnie autentyczny. Skupiając się na doznaniach płynących z ciała, szukając ukrytych emocji, eksplorując połączenie umysł-ciało, pozwala zaistnieć spontanicznemu ruchowi, w ten sposób uzdalniając ciało do opowiedzenia swojej wyjątkowej historii.

Anna Scanlan

Anna Scanlan is a co-founder of “Inisowiacy” Polish Folk Group in Ennis, Ireland. She has been involved with traditional dance since primary school, through secondary school, where she danced in the “Dzikowianie” ensemble in Tarnobrzeg and during her university studies at the “Jawor” group in Lublin. Anna also danced with “Syrenka” in Sydney Australia, during her time studying abroad. In 2015 Anna joined the Polish Irish Association, where she helped to co-organise the Polska Eire Festival in Ennis. This also led to the development of the Inisowiacy Polish folk group, Anna has been involved with teaching Polish dance and choreography from the outset of the group. Anna has also been involved in coordinating many Polish cultural events in recent years, and other cultural events such as Culture Night and the Saint Patrick’s Parade entries in Ennis. She also helped initiate folk handcraft workshops and traditional music workshops in Ennis.

Anna seeks to work with local organisations operating in County Clare, and with Polish diaspora groups abroad. Along with her husband, Ray and two children, Tomas and Robert she actively participates in the activities of the “Inisowiacy” Folk Group in Ennis.

Anna Scanlan jest współzałożycielką Grupy Folklorystycznej “Inisowiacy” w Ennis w Irlandii. Z tańcem tradycyjnym była związana od czasów szkoły podstawowej, poprzez szkołę średnią gdzie tańczyła w zespole “Dzikowianie” w Tarnobrzegu oraz w czasie studiów w ZPiT “Jawor” w Lublinie. Gościnnie występowała z zespołem polonijnym “Syrenka” w Sydney w Australii. Od 2016 roku związana z Polish Irish Association (Stowarzyszenia polsko-irlandzkiego), gdzie była współorganizatorem Festiwalu Polska Eire w Ennis. Od początku działalności grupy “Inisowiacy” (2015) jest odpowiedzialna za choreografię i naukę tańca. Jest koordynatorem kulturalnych imprez cyklicznych takich jak: Noc Kultury oraz parady świętego Patryka w Ennis. Inicjatorka warsztatów rękodzieła w ludowego oraz warsztatów muzyki tradycyjnej w Ennis.

Wspólpracuje z Irlandzkimi organizacjami działającymi w hrabstwie Clare, oraz organizacjami polonijnymi. Wraz z mężem Irlandczykiem i dwójką dzieci bierze czynnie udział w działaniach Grupy Folklorystycznej “Inisowiacy” w Ennis.

Przemysław Łozowski

Przemysław Łozowski – a graduate of the Academy of Music in Łódź. Founder and director of the brass band “Chojzes Klezmorim” – (klezmerists of the Seer from Lublin), operating in 2001-2007 at the ACK Chatka Żaka in Lublin. In 2005, he won the 2nd Prize at the “New Tradition” Festival organized by Polish Radio and TV Polonia. Cooperated, inter alia, with such centers as NN Theater, UMCS Academic Cultural Center, Galeria na Prowincji Foundation, Kresy 2000 Foundation. He is the founder of several Polish schools abroad, conducts music classes with children and youth. He established on Green Island such formations as “The SuperTonic Orchestra” – referring to the musical heritage of Central and Eastern Europe, The Dulcis Polonia Choir, Kapela do Wesela, or the Polish Orchestra operating at the Polish school “Wspólna Wyspa” in Drogheda. In 2014, he established the “Borówek 27” Foundation, the aim of which is, inter alia, to promote the traditional culture of the Lublin region, for example during the “Tabor Lubelski” Festival. Since 2013, he has been a co-founder of the Jagiellonian Fair Orchestra in Lublin. Currently, he cooperates with the Workshops of Culture in Lublin, leading the Small Orchestra of the Jagiellonian Fair.

Przemysław Łozowski – absolwent Akademii Muzycznej w Łodzi. Założyciel i kierownik dętej orkiestry klezmerskiej “Chojzes Klezmorim”-(klezmerzy Widzącego z Lublina), działającej w latach 2001-2007 przy ACK Chatka Żaka w Lublinie. W roku 2005 zdobyła II Nagrodę podczas Festiwalu “Nowa Tradycja” organizowanym przez Polskie Radio i TV Polonia. Współpracował min. z takimi ośrodkami jak Teatr NN, Akademickie Centrum Kultury UMCS, Fundacja Galeria na Prowincji, Fundacja Kresy 2000. Od 2007 roku mieszka w Irlandii, gdzie aktywnie animuje życie społeczno-kulturalne Polonii. Jest założycielem kilku szkół polonijnych, prowadzi zajęcia muzyczne z dziećmi oraz młodzieżą. Powołał do istnienia na Zielonej Wyspie takie formacje jak zespół “The SuperTonic Orchestra” – nawiązujący do dziedzictwa muzycznego Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej, The Dulcis Polonia Choir, Kapela do Wesela czy działającą przy polskiej szkole “Wspólna Wyspa” w Droghedzie Polską Orkiestrę. W roku 2014 powołał Fundację “Borówek 27” której celem jest między innymi promocja kultury tradycyjnej Lubelszczyzny np. podczas Festiwalu “Tabor Lubelski”. Od 2013 roku współtworzy Orkiestrę Jarmarku Jagiellońskiego w Lublinie. Obecnie współpracuje z Warsztatami Kultury w Lublinie prowadząc Małą Orkiestrę Jarmarku Jagiellońskiego.

Daniel Flannagan

Hailing from Shannon, Co. Clare, Daniel Flannagan is a qualified Irish Dancing Teacher with An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaeltacha (The Irish Dancing Commission) and also a graduate of Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick.

Daniel began dancing at a very young age of 5 under the instruction of Patricia Brady Mullins (ADCRG, BG) and later under Mairead Hackett Hasty (TCRG). Following a long competitive career, Daniel took the next steps and qualified as a dancing teacher in January 2016.

Daniel is now the owner of his own school based in Shannon, teaching children from around county Clare and Limerick from beginners to championship level.

Daniel Flannagan pochodzi z Shannon w hrabstwie Clare i jest wykwalifikowanym nauczycielem tańca irlandzkiego w An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaeltacha (Komisja Tańca Irlandzkiego), a także absolwentem Mary Immaculate College na Uniwersytecie w Limerick.

Daniel zaczął tańczyć w bardzo młodym wieku 5 lat pod okiem Patricii Brady Mullins (ADCRG, BG), a później Mairead Hackett Hasty (TCRG). Po długiej karierze zawodowej Daniel postawił kolejne kroki i w styczniu 2016 roku uzyskał kwalifikacje nauczyciela tańca.

Daniel jest teraz właścicielem własnej szkoły z siedzibą w Shannon, uczącej dzieci z całego hrabstwa Clare i Limerick od początkującego do poziomu mistrzowskiego.
