A collaborative exhibition created through The Philosopher’s Hat project
5 November – 19 November 2026 | The Hunt Museum | 19th Polish Arts Festival
Who Are We? Where Do We Belong? is a collaborative exhibition created through The Philosopher’s Hat, a creative outreach project with Polish weekend school in Limerick bringing together Philosophy for Children (P4C) and visual art.
The project invites children and young people to explore questions of identity, belonging, diversity, relationships and living between cultures. Through guided philosophical conversations led by Polish philosopher and educator Łukasz Krzywoń, participants are encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, listen to different perspectives and develop their own ways of thinking.
Their reflections then become the starting point for a collective artistic process. Working with visual artist Paula Depta, participants transform their thoughts, experiences, questions and dreams into drawings, colour, textures and words in Polish and English.
The resulting large-scale collaborative artwork is presented at The Hunt Museum as part of the 19th Polish Arts Festival 2026.
The exhibition is not simply a display of children’s artwork. It is a visual record of a conversation — a collection of voices and perspectives exploring what it means to know who we are, where we belong, and how our identities are shaped by the people and cultures around us.
During the festival, the artwork will continue to evolve through an open family workshop, inviting children, parents and members of the wider Limerick community to add their own thoughts, images and creative responses.
In this way, the exhibition becomes a living, growing portrait of a multicultural community — created by many voices, in two languages, and with no single answer to the question:
Who are we?
Where do we belong?
